The fairy-tale royal wedding between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry seems to have taken a nasty turn, after the American actress made a mistake while preparing for the big day. Apparently this mistake backfired right into her royal, fantasy wedding.
The NBC News reported that the British government will be cleaning out beggars from the streets. This is all part of the preparations for the royal wedding. It was explained that the presence of beggars would be a “detritus” in the attempt to promote Windsor on a positive note.
Simon Dudley, the leader of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council expressed his concern about the epidemic of homeless people sleeping outside and the ‘vagrancy’ in the town on Twitter, and said it needs to be cleared out before the “# RoyalWedding”
He rote a letter to the local Police and the Crime Commissioner Anthony Stansfield, that read : “This is making the atmosphere for our residents concerning and hostile, as well as for the seven million tourists that visit Windsor each year”and,“It is starting to be increasingly concerning to see the quantities of bags and detritus that the ones begging are accumulating and leaving on our pavements, sometimes unattended, thus presenting a security risk.”
The wedding is supposed to take place at the oldest inhabited castle that was previously in history used as a home for several British monarchs.
Dudley stated “It is clear that the level of tourist interest is set to multiply with the Royal Wedding, and there are concerns from our residents regarding their safety” adding “The situation shows one beautiful town in a sadly unfavorable light.”
According to what Stansfield had to say, the police would be happy to clear out the are.
His words were: “I will provide Councillor Dudley with a full response addressing his concerns once I have received the letter and investigated every issue he has raised.”
However, one man recognized this for what it is. The Windsor Homelessness Project’s Manager, Murphy James exclaimed that the fact that the royal wedding has been listed as the reason for concern is “sickening”.
James said: “It’s completely abhorrent that anyone has got these views in this day and age, especially when it comes to a lead councillor of the borough. If someone is sleeping out on the street, they are sure not doing that by choice, they are there because something has gone wrong.”
